Hire Education is an 8-week program comprised of 2 hour bi-weekly (Monday and Wednesday) classes, designed to assist unemployed and under-employed individuals to locate and retain work.  The program has three major components including: 1.  Jobs For Life training:  Curriculum addresses the basic needs to find and keep a job.  Sessions will include mock interviews with local business professionals. 2.  Computer Skills development:  Sessions cover Windows XP, Keyboarding, MS Office Word, MS Office Excel, and MS Office PowerPoint training.  Classes are taught in a lecture/lab format with students using provided laptops during class time.  Sessions will include cover letter and resume writing workshops. 3.  Education Mentoring:  Assistance is offered for GED testing preparations as well as vocational and/or community college enrollment. This training program is sponsored locally by The Harrison Mayors Fund, NewSong Vineyard Church, Love INC, and Rumpke of Ohio.  Cost to students is $10.00 covering the course text and other resource materials.  Completing the program does not guarantee you a job but can help equip you to find and interview for job opportunities. Hire Education will be held at NewSong Vineyard Church, 120 N. State St. in Harrison, OH, on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 PM beginning on September 13, 2010.  Child care will not be available. We are excited to again offer this faith based workforce training opportunity to the greater Harrison community.  Enrollment is currently open; class size is limited to 20 student to offer more individualized assistance.
